God is always Faithful!
Today, I am once again blown away by the love and faithfulness of our God toward us.
If we are faithless,
He remains faithful;
He cannot deny Himself. – 2 Timothy 2:13
We might reasonably expect faithfulness from a partner, a family member or a close friend. But the greatest faithfulness of all is God’s faithfulness to us, which never changes. God is faithful and cannot deny Himself.
Our faithfulness to human relationships or commitments is often contingent on things being favourable toward us. But even when we have been unfaithful toward Him, God remains faithful to us.
Praise the Lord, all nations! Extol him, all peoples!
2 For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord! – Psalm 117:1,2
We can be sure that God will never let us down and His faithfulness will endure forever, no matter what happens in life, He will always be faithful.
O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure. – Isaiah 25:1.
God’s faithfulness toward us does not rest on what we’ve done or our natural ability to make something happen. We must look at how faithful God has always been. Then we will feel secure that God will surely bring about all which He has promised to accomplish in our lives. The plans which God has already formed for us, He is faithful to bring them into reality.
You may have been let down by those who made promises they did not keep, but God will never let you down and He will always stay true to His covenant promises. His love never ceases and His mercies never come to an end, great is His faithfulness.
You may have been holding on to a promise from God for some time. Keep holding on and trust God, He is faithful. When the faithfulness of God toward us meets with our faithfulness to God, great things happen. Faithfulness is one of the forgotten fruit of the spirit as people often show more faithfulness toward sports teams than God and His people.
Jesus tells a parable of a wealthy man who trusted his servants with various amounts while he was away in Matthew 7. Two of them handled the responsibility well and heard these words: “…well done good and faithful servant; you were faithful over few things, I will make you ruler over many. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 7:21.
This parable was a picture of us and God. His faithfulness meeting ours brings great reward. If we remain faithful, one day we will hear those wonderful words, well done good and faithful servant, as we enter into heaven.
We must try to stay faithful to God, even when we are tempted to give up, or fall to sin. God’s faithfulness will supply all you need to resist the temptation you face.
Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. – 1 Corinthians 10:12,13
In your waiting, don’t rely on your own strength, but rely on God who promises to be faithful toward you when temptation comes your way. There is a limitation to our temptation and God is in control. Don’t give in, but trust in Him who will give you strength to resist, and a way of escape.
so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. – 1 Corinthians 1:7-9
