Don’t labour in vain
Have you ever wondered if all your hard work accounts to much? Perhaps at times it feels like our hard work is not appreciated and nobody sees the efforts we make. If our work is established in God, it is never in vain.
Unless the Lord builds the house, They labour in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain. – Psalm 127:1.
Working hard is always seen as a good thing to do and it is. But we all need to take stock, in all parts of our life. We must ensure that all the hard work is not in vain. The only way to be certain of this is to know God is in it.
We are all working hard to build something of worth in many areas of our life, in our home life, work life or church life. Unless God has ordained it, established it and causing the increase, then we may be working hard for nothing.
God won’t take away what He has ordained, no one can destroy or dismantle what He has established and no one can stop the blessing and increase He brings about.
Whatever we are busy working on, we must not fool ourselves or be deceived, God is the true builder of all things.
For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God. - Hebrews 3:4.
Before we begin anything in life, we should commit our ways and plans to the Lord. That way, nothing is lost and even those experiences which seem less than positive are an opportunity for God to teach us something new. God alone brings about success for the work we do, but it has to start in Him.
Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be established. – Proverbs 16:3.
God blesses the work of our hands and we can do nothing outside of Him. God also watches over the work once it is established. We might put in many safeguards and insurances against loss, but only God can truly protect what He has given in your life. Unless God keeps watch over us, we can also watch in vain. We need to continue on in Him because we can do nothing outside of Him.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. – John 15:5.
Be sure to commit all the things you begin to the Lord. Surrender all your ways to the Lord and always remember, we can do nothing without the Lord.
Be at peace, because God is watching over all He has established in your life and the work you do for Him is never labour in vain.
